THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Whittier College women's soccer team pushed unbeaten Cal Lutheran for all 90 minutes but couldn't find a goal as the Regals escaped with a 1-0 win over the Poets on Saturday afternoon.

The lone goal of the contest came at the 58:03 mark of the second half on Brittany Clark's seventh goal of the season. The teams played to a 0-0 halftime tie.

The Poets were outshot 16-3 of the game but only allowed six of CLU's 16 shots to go on goal.

Megan Wessel made five saves in the loss.

Breeann Yamada led the Poets with two shots, both of which went on frame, while Emma Krieger had the other shot on goal.

The Regals played two keepers but it was Kristin Borzi who made the three saves to preserve the shutout.

Whittier returns to action on Wednesday evening has it hosts Redlands at 7 pm.
