LOS ANGELES – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its annual Athletes of the Week and Andrea Smith was honored on the female side after she helped the Poets to a 3-0 win over SOKA last Wednesday evening.

Smith had a hand in all three of Whittier's goals as she totaled four points in what was the Poets' third straight win.

Whittier got on the board just 2:27 into the contest as Danielle Kwasniowski finished the double assist from Stephanie Bergstrom and Smith.

The senior from La Mirada, Calif., gave Whittier a 2-0 advantage at 28:07 with a header off a cross from Bergstrom and later picked up her second assist of the night in the 37th minute. Smith had possession in the box and patiently found Anna Edwards on the back post to put the Poets up 3-0.

For the season, Smith is tied for the team lead with six points. She has two goals and two assists.
