LA VERNE, Calif. – The Whittier College women's soccer team saw yet another tale of two half's as they surrendered three goals in the first before standing strong in the second holding their opposition scoreless. But in the end it wouldn't be enough as they fell 3-0 to La Verne.
In the first half the Leopards controlled the offense outshooting the Poets 10-4, while getting two goals from Marisella Macias and another from Megan Hodgson. In the second however the Poets managed to get off seven shots, while holding the Leopards scoreless thanks to senior goalie Shanna Falch (Doylestown, PA) who played the second half collecting four saves.
Madison Shipherd (Whittier, Calif.) led the offensive unit taking five shots with two being on goal, while Danielle Kwasniowski (Las Vegas, NV), Kaela Reisfelt (Castaic, Calif.), Kristina Velasco (Placentia, Calif.), and Ashley Avalos (Los Angeles, Calif.) each recorded a shot a piece.
Whittier continues with SCIAC play as they travel to Claremont-M-S, Wednesday, October 9 beginning at 7:00pm.
