THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Despite being held to just three shots on the game, the Whittier College Women's Soccer team played Cal Lutheran University to a scoreless draw Saturday night at William Rolland Stadium.

The Purple & Gold have now played two consecutive scoreless draw contests and have earned three ties over their last four games.  They move to 3-2-4, 2-2-3 SCIAC, while CLU moves to 4-1-3, 3-1-2 SCIAC.

Freshman Vanessa Martinez (La Mirada, Calif.) has played lights out this season between the posts and has not given up a goal over her last two games.  Against the Regals she played all 110:00 minutes collecting seven saves.

Kanoe Morihara (Mililani, HI) had the only look in the first half coming at the 10:34 mark but her shot would go wide right.  The other two shots came in the second half from Clarissa Field (Whittier, Calif.) and Andrea Aldama (Gardena, Calif.), which forced CLU keeper Alexa Soto into two save opportunities.

Whittier was outshot 22-3 and was at a disadvantage on corner kicks 6-2.

Whittier has a bye this weekend and returns to competition next Wednesday, October 3 when they host the University of Redlands beginning at 7:00pm.
