ORANGE, Calif. – The Whittier College women's soccer team dropped their fourth straight contest as they fell 5-0 to the Panthers of Chapman University Saturday morning despite not having starting goalkeeper Shanna Falch.

Falch who was coming into today's contest the SCIAC leader in saves with 56 was unable to play due to a concussion she sustained last game forcing forward Danielle Kwasniowski to get her first minutes between the posts and what a job she did.

Kwasniowski finished with seven saves playing all 90:00 and recorded a huge save on a penalty kick in the 46th minute when she denied Rebeccah Bortz who wanted to add to the Panther 1-0 lead they had taken into the half.

In the first half Chapman outshot Whittier 13-3, and got on the scoreboard first in the 12th minute when Karina Cisneros found the back of the goal.  This put Chapman in front 1-0 but was held scoreless after that heading into the half.

Coming out in the second Chapman held Whittier to just one shot, while they took 19, which played huge dividends late as the Panthers added four goals in the 58th, 68th, 72nd, and 79th minutes.

Madisen Shipherd led the Poets on offense taking two shots with one being on goal, while the Panthers were led by Val Sobol who took nine shots with two being on goal.

The Poets look to bounce back as they continue their three game road trip when they travel to La Verne on Wednesday, October 10 to take on the Leopards beginning at 7:00pm.
