WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College men's tennis team moved back into the win column Saturday making quick work of Occidental College earning the 8-1 victory at the Richard Ettinger Tennis Courts.

Samuel Farmer (Carlsbad, Calif.) andIan Ross (Altadena, Calif.) earnedthesecondpoint8-2atNo. 2andTroy Chavez (Temecula, Calif.) andTyler Linscott (Scottsdale, AZ) wrappedupthedoublessweepwinning8-6atNo.1.
In singles, the Poets continued their dominance with Shimizu leading the charge at No. 3 winning 6-1, 6-0 over Jesse Kreger. Joesph Laguna (Santa Ana, Calif.) earned his first collegiate victory at No. 6 beating Erik Silverness 6-2, 6-1, which clinched the victory right before freshman Ross pulled off the 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 over Isa Kibira.
Oxy finally got on the scoreboard at No. 1 from senior Josh Dancu, transfer from DePaul University who earned a hard fought win at No. 1 against Farmer 6-2, 6-1. But that would be the final point gathered by the Tigers as Stanko and Linscott would make quick work of Eric Kazangian and Avery Howard at No. 2 and No. 4 both winning 6-3, 6-2.
