LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Whittier College women's lacrosse team attempted to the spoil the senior day for Occidental College Saturday afternoon but couldn't find their offense as they fell 16-2 in their regular season finale.

Whittier (2-13, 0-10 SCIAC) managed to add just one goal in each half for their lowest offensive output of the season.  The Poets turned the ball over 24 times and struggled clearing it as they were 7 of 17 on the day, while totaling six shots.

Both goals came from freshman Angelina Cuevas (Long Beach, Calif.) with her first coming with 2:36 remaining in the first half.  She added her second at the 9:52 mark in the second stanza but the game was already put out of reach as Oxy's Sierra Slack and Rebecca Reese totaled four goals apiece.

Senior Nicole Yorba (Poway, Calif.) faced 31 shots on the day finishing with 15 saves, while Taylor Pool (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) totaled two groundballs and three draw controls.

Whittier heads into the SCIAC Post Season Tournament this Wednesday, April 22 but will await their opponent as the last SCIAC game takes place on Monday, April 20.  The game Wednesday evening will take place on the road at 7:00pm.
