WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team faced a tough task Wednesday evening as they were shutout for the first time this season falling 21-0 to Claremont-M-S at Memorial Stadium.

It was rough night for the Purple as they drop to 1-2, 0-2 SCIAC.  They managed just six shots with three coming in each half.  They were outshot 42-6, turned the ball over 22 times and was 8-of-17 on clear attempts.

Two of the shots came from Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) with both being on goal, while she grabbed two draw controls and two groundballs.  Zorida Vasquez (San Diego, Calif.) added another shot with a groundball and two draw controls, while Melanie Rizzotti (Mukilteo, WA) picked up three groundballs.

Madison Topping (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) between the posts had a busy night facing 26 shots but totaled 15 saves in the loss.  Emily Olague (San Ramon, Calif.) played the second half and recorded three saves.    

Whittier remains in conference play this Saturday, March 4 as they host Pomona-Pitzer beginning at 11:00am.
