REDLANDS, Calif. – Despite the Whittier College Men's Tennis team suffering a tough 8-1 loss to the University of Redlands over the weekend, the bright spot came at No. 1 singles.

The Purple & Gold were swept in doubles with the tight match occurring at No. 3 from Troy Chavez (Temecula, Calif.) and Chris Palacio (El Centro, Calif.) who fell 8-6 with a late break of serve against Parker Wilson and Tom Suchodolski.

It got worse in singles as the Bulldogs would take five of six points to take the win.

The lone victory coming at the top spot from Senior Andrew You (Arcadia, Calif.) who took out Chase Lipscomb ranked No. 5 in the West Region and No. 25 Nationally coming back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 in his biggest win of his career.

Whittier returns to the court this Saturday, April 1 as they host Occidental College beginning at 10:00am.
