WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's Tennis team looked to build momentum following a 6-3 win over Hardin-Simmons but couldn't get a footing as they fell 6-3 to Babson College.

The Purple & Gold drop to 2-6, 0-1 SCIAC.

The Poets got a quick point in doubles from Maxwell Koszowski (Denver, CO) and Thomas Koszowski (Denver, CO) winning 8-3 at the top spot.  Babson leveled the match winning at No. 3 8-5 before taking the edge 2-1 following a come from behind victory at No. 2 8-7.  Pim Van Der Veer (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Matt Yanuck (Studio City, Calif.) played together for the first time and they played tough jumping out in front 7-4 but couldn't hold it as they allowed the Beavers to come back.
