CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team saw it tough to score Saturday as they fell 20-1 to Claremont-M-S.

The Purple & Gold had a tough match-up with the Athenas who have now won 30 straight Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) games dating back to 2016.  Whittier now drops to 3-10, 0-6 SCIAC.  They have also dropped their 16th straight conference game.  Their last win coming back in 2017 against Chapman University.

Whittier's only goal came in the first half at the 11:04 mark from Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) who was fed by Lexie Meanor (Sewickley, PA).  Before that CMS had put together 11 in a row.  Madison Topping (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) recorded another double digit save effort finishing with 12 stops against 32 shots.

Whittier was outshot 40-3 and was 10-for-22 on clear attempts.  They picked up nine groundballs and won just five draw controls.  Hansen finished with a goal and two groundballs along with a pair of caused turnovers.  Meanor added an assist and three draw controls and Ilah Hardersen (Buckley, WA) added a pair of draws.

Whittier remains on the road this Saturday, April 13 when they take on Pomona-Pitzer beginning at 11:00am.
