REDLANDS, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team continues to make big strides this season putting up double digit goals for the first time in a 21-10 loss to the University of Redlands.

The Purple & Gold are still seeking their first win on the season as they drop to 0-3, 0-3 SCIAC.

Whittier got off to a hot start scoring four unanswered across the first eight minutes from Molly Landon (San Marcos, Calif.), Payton Climer (Dallas, TX), and Sam Nimmo (Pleasanton, Calif.).  Davidson answered three minutes later that moved the score to 5-1, but after that it was all Redlands scoring the next ten that swung the momentum giving them an 11-5 advantage heading into the break.

The run continued in the early stages of the second half for UR as they scored four more that extended their lead to 15-5.  Sarah Morgan (Tustin, Calif.) ended the run with a pair of tallies and Davidson would add her second capitalizing with a person advantage putting together three in a row for the Purple & Gold.  Redlands got those three goals back however as they moved the deficit back to double digits with 6:07 to play.  Morgan Miracle (Tustin, Calif.) tried to create some pushback late with a pair of goals but over the final 3:38 the Bulldogs were able to secure the win with three straight. 

Whittier was outshot 42-32 and was at a disadvantage on draw controls 18-14.  They were a mere 1-for-11 on free positions and were 6-of-13 on clear attempts.  They also picked up 11 groundballs. 

Jaelin Isquith (Las Vegas, NV) finished with another double digit save effort with 10 against 31 shots.  Davidson had a strong game with a pair of goals, an assist, four groundballs and a draw control.  Climer, Morgan, and Miracle each added two goals and Loren Sepulveda (Middleburg, VA) would tack on four draw controls. 

Whittier remains in SCIAC play this Saturday, February 29 when they host first year program Cal Lutheran University beginning at 11:00am.
