WHITTIER, Calif. (May 4, 2023) -  Sophomore Neeraj Shetty was named Second Team All-SCIAC Thursday after placing second overall at the SCIAC Championships last week.

"It's a huge honour to be recognised by the coaches in the conference," Shetty said. "Plus, it was nice to finish strong considering it was our last event representing Whittier College."

After Day Two of the three-day championship tournament, the Bangalore, India native paced the men by posting two consecutive 69 rounds. 

On the final day, Shetty continued playing well, but his 68 score fell just two strokes shy of winner Michael Ordona of La Verne. Overall, Shetty shot 10 under par for the tournament, an incredible achievement for the sophomore!

Shetty recorded 16 birdies, tied with two others for most among the men. He also tallied one eagle and 29 pars.

Congratulations, Neeraj, on a wonderful season and for being named to the All-SCIAC Second Team!
