WHITTIER, Calif. (Apr. 2, 2025) – Three members of the Whittier College men's swimming & diving team have been recognized for College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District for the 2024-25 season. The three swimmers are senior
Nick Coltrin (Livermore, Calif. / Granada) and juniors
James Saw (Cave Creek, Ariz. / Desert Mountain) and
Garrett Dykier (Chino Hills, Calif. / Chino Hills).
CSC Academic All-District®, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must display excellence on the playing field in addition to meeting the minimum participation requirements as well as GPA requirements. Only student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and higher are considered for the honor.
All three athletes had a crucial role in the men's swimming & diving team this year. Coltrin graduates as one of the most accomplished short-distance swimmers in the history of the program, holding top-two marks in the 50 and 100 Free and a top three mark in the 100 Fly. He also finished on the cusp of scoring at this year's SCIAC Championships in his signature event, the 50 Free. As for Dykier, the junior made a transition to the sprint free events late in the season after spending the majority of his career in middle distance. Saw, a chemistry major, departs the program as the 200 Fly record holder
