LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2024) – Sophomore
Thomas Langlois (Haut-Richelieu, QC, Canada) of the Whittier College men's swimming & diving team had a huge day for himself in a dual meet at the University of California, Santa Cruz over the weekend, earning himself SCIAC Male Swimmer of the Week.
Langlois is Whittier's second Male Swimmer of the Week in as many weeks, following in the footsteps of senior sprint free specialist
Nick Coltrin.
The French-Canadian phenom posted the fastest 1000 Free time in Division III this year: a 9:39.80 that beat out the competing Slugs by at least a full minute. Langlois also won the 500 Free with a time of 4:43.86, competed in the 400 IM to the tune of a 4:15.75, and assisted on the 400 Free Relay team, contributing a split of 49.64.
Langlois and the Poets will turn their attention to this weekend's MPSF Open Water Championship in Long Beach, Calif. The sophomore specifically has a background in open water swimming environments, and should be poised to continue swimming and competing at a high level.
