WHITTIER, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2024) – Six members of the Whittier College women's soccer team were selected to the CSC Academic All-District team for this year, and out of all nine SCIAC institutions, 45 of a possible 54 received all-encompassing reconition for their athletic and academic exploits.
The Whittier players chosen this year include First Team All-SCIAC selection
Juliana Hodgson (Fullerton, Calif. / Sunny Hills), fellow seniors
Shayla Sakkakhanaune (Clovis, Calif. / Buchanan),
Elizabeth Roybal (West Covina, Calif. / South Hills), and
Arianna Cisneros-Botello (Hacienda Heights, Calif. / Glen A. Wilson), as well as junior transfers
Jessie Bonsness (Santa Clarita, Calif. / Valencia / College of the Canyons) and
Audrey Burgmaier (Snohomish, Wash. / Glacier Peak / Lesley University). First-year transfer students became eligible for the award as of fall 2023.
CSC Academic All-District®, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must display excellence on the playing field in addition to meeting the minimum participation requirements as well as GPA requirements. Only student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and higher are considered for the honor.
