One of Whittier College’s professional athletes, Chuck attended Whittier High School and was on the CIF team for three years. For two years he was a High School All American, captained the team and was named “Athlete of the Year”. In track he held eight shot put records.

At Fullerton Junior College, where he spent his freshman year, Chuck was named a Junior College All American.

A three-year letterman at Whittier College, he was named a All Conference SCIAC tackle all three years and a Little All American in his senior year.

He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills, playing pro football with them in 1960-61 and then playing for the Oakland Raiders from 1962-64.

He was named an All-Pro Defensive Tackle twice and was selected to the All Star Teams four times.

A year before being inducted into the Whittier College Hall of Fame, Chuck died suddenly to the sorrow of all his many friends.
