Randy came to Whittier College from Riverside where he achieved National recognition as the All Conference Track Champion in the National Junior college Competitions.

  • At Whittier College he won letters in track in 1937 and 1938. 

  • All conference SCIAC both years

  • A member of the Great Poet Team that won the Nationals Relays at Drake University in 1937 

  • National College Track Champion in 1937 with a mark of 20.7 sec. In the 220 yard dash set at San Diego State - A School Record

  • Received his MA USC 1952

  • Spent his entire life in Social Work specializing in youth areas and rehabilitation

  • Cited by President Lyndon B. Johnson

  • In 1976 the Rehabilitation and Training Center in Seattle, Washington for Physically and Mentally Handicapped Persons was dedicated and named in his honor - “Randolph Carter Industrial Workshop”
