From Flagstaff (AZ) High School, Liz was a fine runner in Cross Country and Track as well as an outstanding academic scholar on campus.

Athletic accomplishments from 1983-87:

  • President’s Female Scholar Athlete Aard (86-87)

  • GTE Academic All American in Track (86-87)

  • 1 Soccer letter (85-86)

  • 4 time letterwinner in both Cross Country and Track

Cross Country

  • 3 year MVP, Captain (84-85)

  • All SCIAC 2nd Team (83-84, 84-85, 85-86)

  • All SCIAC 1st team (86-87)

Track

  • 4 year MVP

  • All SCIAC 1st team 800m, 400mHH (86-87)

After graduation from Whittier, Liz attained her PhD in cognitive psychology at Purdue in 1992. She is presently working on a postdoctoral research fellowship in cognitive neuroscience at UC Berkeley and is also a research associate at the Center for Neuroscience at UC Davis with a neurosurgery team studying the effects of Parkinson’s Disease. 

Inducted as a Hall of Fame Member, March 9, 1997.
