  • Born in Salinas, CA on September 11, 1937

  • Jim moved to Whittier when he was in 3rd grade, attending West Whittier, Bailey Junior High and East Whittier Schools

  • He graduated from San Pedro High School in 1955 where he played baseball

  • Following in both of his parents and two uncle’s footsteps, Jim attended Whittier College from 1955-59

  • Jim’s leadership on the baseball field is well documented, attaining All Conference three years and serving as captain of the 1958-59 squads

  • His senior year, he finished the season hitting .400

  • His leadership skills were also felt on campus, as he was President of the Junior Class in 1957-58 and President of the Orthogonian Society in 1958-59

  • Jim was selected to the Who’s who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 1959Following his stint in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, Jim spent the next 41 years working for US Gypsum Company/International Paper

  • When Jim retired, he was the Western Regional Manager and also managed numerous International accounts

  • Jim and his wife of 51 years, MAjorie ‘61 currently reside in Hacienda Heights, CA. They have three children, Kristen, Janna and Eric and nine grandchildren.
