Defensive end and Linebacker

Coming from California High School, where he played both football and baseball, Larry Taylor quickly established himself at Whittier College as a rugged and dependable defensive end and linebacker. He lettered in Varsity Football for four seasons 1970-73. During this time, Larry was named First Team All SCIAC and All NAIA District III on defense for three consecutive years. In 1973 he also received All American recognition and was named to the All Coast Team. 

The 1195 Club recognized Taylor as “Player of the Week” during each of his four years for outstanding play against Cal Western (‘70), Redlands (‘71), Cal Western USIU (‘72) and Azusa Pacific (‘73). Defensively, Larry recorded over 70 individual sacks, ten fumble recoveries, six interceptions, two touchdowns and one safety. He was a member of the Orthogonian Society. 

Since graduation from Whittier College, Larry has been a teacher as well as a football and baseball coach at Bell Gardens High School. He resides in Chino with his wife Elaine and three sons. 

Inducted on March 14, 1993.
