  • After competing in Football and Track at the College of Emporia (Kansas), Bob competed from 1938-40 at Whittier College as an outstanding sprinter in Track

  • “Papa” was the 220 yard dash champion of 1940 SCIAC Track meet and medaled in the 100 yard dash and the mile relay

  • Upon graduating from Whittier College, Bob became a successful banker

  • During the WWII, he served as an instructor at the Air Force School for mechanics

  • In 1950, Bob returned to Whittier College and managed the bookstore with his wife, Olive, for the next 35 years while also serving as Assistant Director of Athletics, managing The Spot, coaching Golf Team, serving as Sponsor to the Orthogonian Society and Ski Club

  • Heavily committed to College student activities, Bob finally retired from Whittier College in 1985.
